This picture was taken right before I was temporarily released as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but you can still call me Sister Guilott! |
One thing that made my week amazing was CONFERENCE!! I loved everything that was said during conference, but one of my favorite talks was Elder Bednars talk during the afternoon session on Sunday. He talked all about temples and temples are 100% the place I feel the happiest. Before my mission, I went every week for 3 months, and then in the CTM went every week. Then I got to Brasilia and was sad that I couldn't go to the temple, but then my first week there the temple drawings for the temple in Brasilia were released. And it is BEAUTIFUL. Temples are where I feel peace and happiness and are so important because it is where we can go to become families for forever, and learn more about God's plan for us to be happy here on earth. Remembering this has helped me with my depressed state haha. Today me, my mom, and my sister Emily were all getting stressed being stuck inside, so we went for drive. My mom took us places I didn't even know existed here in Pleasant Grove haha. But the best part was the temples. On our drive for an hour and a half, we saw 6 temples. I am so grateful to be able to live so close to temples, especially to be able to see the Timpanogos temple from my backyard.
So there are two choices missionaries who are home can choose for their plan with continuing their missionary work. The first is getting temporarily reassigned and keeping my original end date. You would leave as soon as it is safe, either back to Brazil or somewhere in the states until I could go back to Brazil. The second option is waiting 1 year to 18 months and then going out and serving, either in Brazil or with a new assignment. I'm leaning towards option one and putting my faith in the hands of God and trusting that He has a plan for me and where I am needed. Of course my heart right now wants it to be Brazil, but I will go where he wants me to go <3
This will probably be the last weekly update I will send until I return to being a missionary. BUT I would still love to communicate! You can email me, message me on facebook and instagram! I want to thank all of you for your support and prayers on my behalf. I have felt them while in Brazil, and while being home the past week and a half. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING AND GOD LOVES YOU!I know that Jesus Christ lives and is our Savior. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and has helped make the Church of Jesus Christ what it is today. Through temples and the power of God, we can be together with our families forever.
LOVE
"Sister" Caroline Guilott <3
