WHAT. A. WEEK.
I am so thankful for this wonderful Sisters I live and serve with. Transfers this week take some of them to new areas. I will miss them! |
S. Dangerfield, me, S. Corn, S. Wilcox |
Let me just start off by saying that this week was by far the best week here. This week we taught a lot of lessons and taught a lot of new people! We also found out about transfers today, and Sister Dangerfield is leaving me :'( but a sister named Sister Merritt is coming to be my companion here and she seems so nice!
I am so grateful for S. Dangerfield this past transfer! She is amazing! |
This week we started teaching a new girl named Shay and she is super awesome!! She totally understands everything we are teaching her. We found out she lost someone close to her, and so we decided to talk more about Gods plan for us here on earth, before and after. All of a sudden she started laughing and we were a little confused, so we asked her what was so funny and she said, "I just feel so happy right now with what you guys are saying." That invited the spirit so much!!
We have a friend named Deidre we've been teaching and she kinda seems like she doesn't like us... but this week we talked to her and she told us that she doesn't want either of us to leave (rip Sis Dangerfield) and that she's grown a close relationship with us. It's really amazing to see the relationships you grow with people, especially since we've only talked on the phone with her. But the spirit is still there on the phone.
We have been teaching this one guy who is a messianic Jew, but he believes in Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. He understand what we are teaching him, but still has his own beliefs!
This week our church started back up and literally nobody was there and it was definitely really weird... but it was awesome to be able to go back to church. It was funny because the last time I was in a church building for church was in Brazil!!
I also got the opportunity to sing this week! YAY!! Singing is definitely how I feel the spirit the strongest and it is a beautiful way to testify of Christ. I sang for our online church service on Facebook for our mission since so many churches still are closed. Everyone go look it up on Facebook and watch this next Sunday!!
The HIGHLIGHT of this week:
We have been teaching this little girl named Angel, and she is exactly that: an angel. Her parents are not members, but she lives with her great grandma who is a member. We went to their house last week for sacrament and Angel turned and whispered to Sister Dangerfield, "I was to be baptized on the 28th!" OKAY TENDER and her great grandma didn't want to do it that soon, so she said we could July 12th. Anywho, skip ahead to this last Wednesday when I was just thinking to myself, and thought, "Why are we waiting that long when she wants to be baptized this Sunday?" Next thing you know, I'm planning a baptism even though everyone else thought she should wait. But I asked, pushed, and guess what? Angel was baptized on Sunday and it was so spiritual and an amazing experience. Her grandma was so happy that we had it happen and thanked us so much.
Such a special day with Angel! |
I am so grateful to be here and to be a missionary. I know that I am meant to be here as a missionary, and I have learned so much from learning to teach in English. I hope all of you have such an amazing week!!
